When your school board uses the Chrome Extension: Web Auditing product students ("them", "they", "their") with the extension enabled provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to identify them as well as track browsing history. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, their email address, Chrome ID and browsing history. This information is made accessible to technology staff at the respective School Board through our secure Scooped web portal.
All collected information is transmitted using modern cryptography methods and stored securely behind password protected systems.
The purpose of this data collection is to help protect staff and students from malicious, dangerous or otherwise high risk online content. Each URL processed by our system is topically tagged for pornography, vulgarity, self-harm and drug related content.
All collected information is considered the property of the School Board. Our data retention period is established with each School Board during setup. Students and staff can inquire about this retention period through their School Board technology department. Requests to redact content will be redirected to School Board technology staff but arbitrated by our team.
